College Programs

In 2009 the Louisiana Automobile Theft and Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority (LATIFPA) expanded its Auto Theft and Auto Theft Prevention Education Program to include college universities around the state. LATIFPA gave its first college student presentation at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 31, 2009. On that day LATIFPA participated in a campus spring break public safety event entitled “Be Smart, Be Safe”. This event brought together over 2,000 students in which LATIFPA staff presented its “Park Smart” education program.

Plans are underway to expand this program to other college universities in FY 2009/2010.
