Where can I find a list of insurance companies in my area that offer a Medicare supplement?
For your convenience, we have posted our 2005 Medicare Supplement Comparison Guide on-line. Return to our homepage. Click on Consumers. Click on Health/Senior Health Information and Publications. Then click on the guide listed under Senior Health Insurance Information Program. The guide reflects Medicare supplement insurers who responded to our annual questionnaire and contains general information on Medicare supplement insurance.
I am under age 65, and I am on Medicare. I need a supplemental insurance policy that will cover what Medicare does not cover. Can I purchase such a policy in Louisiana, and how much will it cost?
Anyone who acquires Medicare, regardless of age, has an open enrollment into Medicare supplement insurance the first six months that Medicare Part B is in effect. After six months an insurance company may ask health questions to determine if they wish to offer you a policy. The cost varies from company to company for the same coverage.
