The Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) has partnered with officials in St. John the Baptist and St. James parishes to create two temporary LDI resource centers to help constituents after Hurricane Ida. LDI officials will also be on hand to answer questions during subsequent town hall meetings.

Trained specialists from LDI’s Office of Consumer Advocacy will be on hand to help constituents affected by Hurricane Ida understand their insurance policies, assist them with filing complaints through LDI and answer general insurance questions.

The Louisiana Department of Insurance asks that all participating constituents bring copies of their insurance policies with them to the meetings. Masks are required at all LDI resource centers.

The resource centers and town hall meetings are being coordinated by the St. James Parish government, the St. John the Baptist Parish government, Rep. Ken Brass, Rep. Randal Gaines, Sen. Ed Price and River Parish Community College.

“We are here for the people of Louisiana,” Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon said. “Bring your policies and bring your questions. We’re ready to help.”

Check the LDI Event Calendar, Facebook (Louisiana Department of Insurance) and Twitter (@LAInsuranceDept) accounts for updates on insurance assistance in affected areas.
