Alexandria Producer Issued a Cease & Desist and Summary Suspension Order
Released: October 15, 2008
An Alexandria licensed producer has been issued a cease and desist order and summary suspension for allegedly submitting falsified claims.
Stacy Buie Anderson, 29, was served today with a cease and desist order, summary suspension and notice of proposed action, resulting in the revocation of her license and a $5,000 fine by Department of Insurance Fraud Section Investigators for allegedly falsifying health insurance claims on her children. It is alleged that during the years of 2005 through 2008, Ms. Anderson altered claims for her children in order to receive additional benefits. It is further alleged that she submitted claims for services that were never rendered.
Department records show that Stacy Anderson is a Louisiana licensed producer. She held a current property and casualty license until today’s actions. Ms. Anderson also held a life and health license, which lapsed April 30, 2008.
Commissioner Donelon urges consumers who feel uneasy about any insurance related transaction to call the Department of Insurance Fraud Section at 225-342-4956 or 1-800-259-5300. If callers do not want their names used, they can request that their involvement be kept confidential.
