Vehicle Theft and Insurance Fraud Conference Will Be Held October 14 in Baton Rouge

A Vehicle Theft and Insurance Fraud Conference, sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Insurance’s Louisiana Automobile Theft and Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority will bring together national and local criminal, judicial and insurance experts to discuss a variety of insurance fraud topics.

The Conference will be held on Tuesday, October 14, at the Holiday Inn Select in Baton Rouge. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon and Lieutenant Allen Carpenter with the Louisiana State Police Fraud Division will open the conference at 8:30 a.m. Commissioner Donelon will also make closing remarks at 4:15 p.m.

Judge Gary Ransom, Superior Court Judge from Sacramento County, California, is the keynote luncheon speaker. Session topics are Vehicle Theft and Insurance Fraud Overview; New Fraud Trends: What Do We See Happening in the Future in Fraud?; Combating Insurance Fraud; National, State and Local Initiatives for Fighting Vehicle Theft and Insurance Fraud; and Criminal Prosecution and Insurance Fraud. There will also be several exhibitors displaying auto theft, insurance fraud, and identity theft products and services.

All Louisiana resident property and casualty producers and adjusters who attend will be entitled to earn up to seven hours of continuing education credit.
