Department of Insurance Office of Consumer Advocacy Speaks to Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity

The Department of Insurance Office of Consumer Advocacy staff spoke to the Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity Homeowners Association on Wednesday, August 12, in Gray, LA. The meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. in Angel Place subdivision.
Topics of discussion included the role of the Office of Consumer Advocacy, hurricane preparedness and the importance of understanding your insurance policy.
According to John Lamke, Insurance Specialist II for the Office
of Consumer Advocacy, all attendees were very appreciative that the
Department of Insurance and Office of Consumer Advocacy came to their
community. The attendees expressed that they felt more confident
in their understanding of their homeowner policy and how to better
prepare for a hurricane.
