Suspension and Fine Notices
Released: September 4, 2009
A Denham Springs area bail bond agent has been issued a cease and
desist order, summary suspension of his license and fine notice yesterday
for alleged misappropriation of premiums.
Scotty Lee Tull, 44, was served by Department of Insurance Fraud
Section Investigators on September 3 with an order to cease and
desist from engaging in the business of insurance, a summary
suspension
notice and an $8,400 fine notice.
Tull is alleged to have collected over $15,629 in premiums from
defendants needing to secure bail bonds, which he did not remit
to the company.
After subtracting commissions owed to him, Tull currently owes
the company $10,842.
Department records show that Tull was issued a Bail Bond license
in May 2006 which was valid until it was summarily suspended
yesterday. His license will be permanently revoked in 30
days unless he requests
a hearing with the Department.
